Implementation Notes:

When accessing SPI Browse from the SN or EMS areas, security access of 1 permits viewing of data in the browse and security access of 2 permits editing.  When accessing SPI Browse from the Profile area only viewing is permitted, regardless of the user’s security settings to the menu item.

Change:

New functionality to select and view, in a browse, Assignment Breakdown and Assignment Add-on records from Salary Negotiations plans.  Allows view\edit of associated Assignment records.

For Positions & Assignments Restructure project

NOTE:  This menu path will change in the June release and the SPI View utility will be made available from more locations at that time.

Implementation Notes:

• To access this new menu item set permissions in the appropriate security groups.  Default security is 0.

• Agencies are advised to give access to the SPI view only to users who already have access to the Assignments tab in SN.  Granting user Change access (2 or higher) to the SPI View will allow them to edit Assignment records regardless of whether the user has been granted Change access to the Assignments tab.  

Notes:

• The browse of selected records must be built after selection parameters have been completed, and rebuilt when "Edit" is selected for any record in the browse, even if no change is made.  Building, and rebuilding, the browse takes time.  For a larger SN plan (tested with approx. 7,000 records) this build process can take 2 minutes or more.  Users are therefore advised that the SPI View may be more useful for working with small plans at the present time.

• Security of "1" (Inquire Only) limits available selection parameters on the Current Selection Parameters screen.  This limitation is consistent with security restrictions on other Skyward selection screens.
