Release:

Version 04.09.06.00.01, August 15, 2009

Feature:

Retirement Adjustments

Issue #:

3379

Change:

  1.  Two check boxes were added to the screen:

  1. Include in Retirement Balancing – if checked (yes), and the adjustment is associated with a contract, the adjustment will be included with the contract’s transactions and associated future balancing.  This can be used to subtract DRS-rejected transactions from contract balancing. If unchecked (no), then the adjustment will be processed independent of any associated contact.  Note:  This check box is effective when associated with pay codes associated with contracts.  If the pay code is not associated with a contract, then the check box will have no effect on the adjustment.

  2. Do not Report to DRS - if checked (true), the adjustment transaction is not reported to DRS.  The transaction is only applied to the retirement history transactions.  The transactions will continue to affect the persons pay, deduction, or benefit.  The vendor amount will increase or decrease reflecting the employee and employer adjustment.  The employee and employer adjustments will not be in the transmittal.

  1. A Comment text-box was added to the screen

Reason:

  1. Two check boxes:

  1. Allows the client the ability to include or exclude adjustments from the retirement balancing calculations for contracts.

  2. Allows the client the ability to choose whether or not to send adjustment transactions to DRS.  Sometimes DRS will reject a previously sent transaction.  The client can create an adjustment for the rejected transaction without sending it to DRS, and have the same information in the retirement history file that DRS has on account for the person.

  1. The Comment box can contain any reference notes the client desires to explain the need\purpose for the adjustment transaction.

Implementation Notes:

  1.  Leaving the check boxes empty\not checked results in the functionality prior to this release.  To activate the new feature, check the box.

  2. Include in Retirement Balancing

  1. Because of current defects in the calculation process WSIPC tier III still may have to intervene to create retirement adjustments for previous system\plan until the defects are corrected.

  1. ‘Do not report to DRS’

  1. When using the ‘Do not report to DRS’ check box, the associated adjustment will not be reported on the DRS transmittal, but any employee or employer contributions will be included in employee net check values and vendor check values.

  2. Also, when using the ‘Do not report to DRS’ check box and employee and\or employer values exist on the adjustment, this will create an imbalance between the transmittal contributions and the vendor warrant.  This is expected.
