1 Overview

HR messages may be updated at the district level, but messages are generally maintained by WSIPC during normal release procedures. Clients may view, report, or download messages to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

The HR Messages table has:

Warning messages do not have to be corrected to proceed further in the payroll process.  They are informational. However, warning messages should not be ignored.  The client should have a legitimate reason for each message or correct the issue associated with the message before moving further in the payroll process.

Updatable?  Some messages have parameters that are adjustable by the client.  For example message #4, Reportable compensation > defined limit per month.  The default value of $10,000 can be modified up or down to increase or decrease the likelihood of encountering the message based upon a high monthly salary.

Display?

The client has the ability to suppress the display of warning messages.  Error messages may not be suppressed.

Errors are messages cannot be changed.  Errors must be corrected to before proceeding further in the payroll process.
