1 Overview

The Washington Workers’ Compensation Benefit Projections process projects the Workers’ Compensation benefit expense that will be incurred based on a Salary Negotiations Plan. It is called during the initial stages of Skyward’s Generate Plan Detail process and estimates the number of employee hours subject to Workers’ Compensation and the benefit amount associated with those hours. It updates the plan’s benefit records with the projected amount. Later stages of Skyward’s process use the amounts when it processes those benefits.

Due to the way taxable hours are calculated when the average hours method is used, if an employee is paid on multiple frequencies, it is essential that Workers' Compensation benefits be set up only on one of those frequencies. Setting them up on more than one frequency will result in a duplication of taxable hours and benefit amounts.

This is a background process, with no visible output. The amounts calculated in this process will be used by Skyward’s routines to determine the proper benefit amount for each assignment.
