National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs State Claim

Release:

Version 05.14.06.00.03, July 12, 2014 - standard release

Change:

  1. Added an option to count purchases by default entity.

  2. When run by grad year, the report will only include the graduation year(s) selected .

Reason:

1. Needed by districts with cafeterias serving multiple entities.

2. Previously, totals included customers with no grad year when run by grad year.

Release:

Version 05.13.10.00.09, January 15, 2014 - addendum release

Change:

  1. Included all adult meals in breakfast and lunch counts even when they had a price limit.

  2. Removed the note that said, "Note: Adult Second meal included in adult meal count."

Reason:

  1. Previously, adult second meals were omitted if the meal had a price limit.

  2. The note was confusing.

Version 05.13.10.00.07, December 11, 2013 - addendum release

Change:

Exclude students withdrawn before the start of school from the Regular, Free, and Reduced Eligibility counts.

For example: First day of school is 9/4. Student withdrew 9/3 (in September but before the start of school year). The student was not active during the school year, so student will not be counted as eligible on the September claim.

Reason:

Previously, students were included in eligibility counts if they were active any time during the month of the report, even if they were withdrawn before the school year started.

Version 05.12.10.00.12, December 8, 2012 - standard release

Change:

  1. The report was changed to use the "Exclude from State Reporting” option defined in Entity Year Options for the current school year.

  2. The "Exclude from State Reporting” option will now appear on the Entity Year browse screen.

Reason:

  1. The report was referencing the prior school year Entity Year for the "Exclude from State Reporting” option.

  2. The "Exclude from State Reporting” option was not appearing on the Entity Year browse screen and it should display.

Version 05.12.06.00.18, October 3, 2012 - addendum release

Change:

Updated the Number of Students Eligible category to include all Lunch Codes a student is assigned to in the same month.

 

For example: Student has two control records; effective 10/1 Lunch Code Type is "Normal” and effective 10/5 Lunch Code Type is "Free”. Student will be counted for eligibility in both the Regular and Free categories on the October claim.

Reason:

Previously, students were counted one time based on a hierarchy where normal was higher than reduced and reduced was higher than paid.

Change:

Student second meals are now included in the Other Revenue Dollars and Ala Carte totals.

Reason:

Second meal purchases for students who were in a Paid Lunch Code were not being included in the totals.

Change:

Added an option on the report ranges screen to filter by Grade\Grad Year.

Reason:

In some cases students in preschool were being included in the report and there was no option to exclude them.

Change:

  1. Added two new reports; Eligibility Detail report and a Reimbursable Meals Detail report.

  2. If a student has a free or reduced lunch code anytime during the month, they will be counted as free or reduced. The hierarchy being; first free, then reduced and then normal (paid).

Reason:

  1. Provides detailed student information that can be used to reconcile the data on the State Claim.

  2. Students were being counted based on the highest day in the month which may or may not have included all students in a free or reduced category.

Change:

Added a new state report.  This report can be used to complete the "School Lunch, Breakfast and Special Milk Program Claim for Reimbursement Form” provided by OSPI.

Reason:

New to the Washington Feature Set.  This was previously a custom report available to NWRDC districts.

The report has been disabled in WESPaC and is only available through the web.
