Release:

Version 04.11.06.00.05, August 13, 2011

Change:

The logic for selecting students for the report has been modified because the requirement to meet standards in Science in order to earn a Certificate of Academic Achievement has been postponed from the class of 2013 to the class of 2015.  Students in the classes of 2008-2014 earn a Certificate of Academic Achievement if standards are met in Reading, Writing and Math.

Reason:

Legislation (ESHB 1410) and OSPI requirements.

  2. Selecting Students and Displaying Data - Graduating Class is 2008-2012:  (a) "graduating class" is now based on Grad Req Base Year instead of WA Grad Year; (b) determining whether Reading and Writing status = MET is now based on both TWASL and THSPE data (as well as Educational Milestones); (c) determining whether a student has earned a Certificate of Academic Achievement is based on both TWASL and THSPE data for Reading, Writing and Math (as well as on Educational Milestones).

  3. Selecting Students and Displaying Data - Graduating Class is 2013 or Later:  (a) "graduating class" is now based on Grad Req Base Year instead of WA Grad Year; (b) whether a student has met standards for Math and Science is now printed on the transcript; (c) determining whether Reading, Writing, Math and Science status = MET is based on both TWASL and THSPE data (as well as Educational Milestones); (d) determining whether a student has earned a Certificate of Academic Achievement is based on both TWASL and THSPE data for Reading, Writing, Math and Science (as well as on Educational Milestones).

  4. Format:  For each of the content areas of Reading, Writing, Math and Science, in addition to displaying the level score and test date, the type of test (WASL or HSPE) is also identified.

Release:

Version 04.10.01.01.00, May 13, 2010 NSR

Change:

Students are listed on this report only if they have not earned a Certificate of Academic Achievement (CAA).  Determining whether a student has earned a Certificate of Academic Achievement (CAA) is based on either the CAA* educational milestones or on test scores, but not on a combination of educational milestones and test scores.

Reason:

When determining whether a student has earned a CAA was based on a combination of educational milestones and TWASL scores, sometimes the student was incorrectly identified as having earned the CAA.

Release:

Version 04.09.02.00.01, May 9, 2009

Change:

  1. Student are listed on this report only if they have not earned a Certificate of Academic Achievement (CAA).  Determination of whether a student has earned a CAA is now based on a combination of educational milestones and TWASL test scores.

  2. The report is now available only in Web Access and is not available in WESPaC.  If the option is selected in WESPaC, a message is displayed that includes the menu path for the report in Web Access.

Reason:

  1. Determination of whether a student has earned a CAA was based on either educational milestones or TWASL scores, but not a combination of both.  Now, however, if a student has a level score of 3 or 4 on TWASL Reading and Writing, and has a Math educational milestone with a date, the student will be identified as having earned a CAA and thus will not be on the report.

  2. Because the changes for item 1 were only made for the Web Access version of report, the PaC version of the report is now obsolete.

Implementation Notes:

The student selection ranges have been expanded to include Default Entities or Selected Default Entities which allows the report to be generated for students who are active in the entity but whose default entity is not equal to the entity running the report.

The sort option, Family, has been renamed, Primary Guardian Name, to reflect the actual sort and a sort option of Primary Guardian Key has been added.

Release:

Version 03.07.10.01.02, April 5, 2008

Feature:

Student TWASL Details If CAA Status = Not Met

Change:

The report logic will now look at all educational milestone records for a CAA educational milestone type in order to determine whether the milestone has a completion date.

Reason:

The report logic was looking for only the first educational milestone record for a CAA educational milestone type and this sometimes resulted in erroneous information being printed on the transcript form.

Release:

Version 03.07.10.00.01, December 8, 2007

Feature:

Student TWASL Details If CAA Status = Not Met

Change:

Added a new report called "Student TWASL Details If CAA Status = Not Met."  Students are selected for the report only if their CAA status on the standardized transcript is "Not Met."  For each student on the report, the level score and test date are printed for the WASL subjects of reading, writing, math and science.  If no test data is available for a subject, dashes are printed.

Reason:

School districts need a way to determine students’ WASL information if the students have not earned a Certificate of Academic Achievement.

Menu:

-- OR --

Student Management\Student\Reports\State Reports\Washington\Washington Transcript Reports\Student TWASL Details If CAA Status = Not Met - by Range

Notes:

CAA Met or Not Met:  This report uses the same logic as the standardized transcript to determine whether a student has earned a CAA.  That is, the logic uses the WASL data in test records named TWASL and the date field on the student’s educational milestones records where type = CAA*.

WASL Data:  Only data from TWASL records are printed on the report.  No other WASL results are shown.

Selection and Default Entity:  Students are not selected for the report if their default entity is not the same as the entity from which the report is being run.
