Change: |
A correction was made in the Report Period and Cumulative Summary section so the printed total of GPA Credits Attempted is correct for each grading period. |
Reason: |
The total printed for GPA Credits Attempted for a grading period was incorrect if there was a current year class for Semester 1 with a grade mark of F, and if there were no Semester 2 grade marks, and if the report was run prior to the grading period end date for Semester 1. This was a display defect only. The student’s Cumulative GPA Credits Attempted and Cumulative GPA were correct. |

Change: |
If a class has an Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate code, the course description printed on the standardized transcript is now the official description published in Addendum Q of the CEDARS Data Manual Appendices. The Appendix contains an abbreviated description and a long description.
The District Configuration screen for Federal/State reporting has been updated to include printing options. First, there is an option to print either the abbreviated official description (the default) or the long official description. Second, there is an option to print the District’s short description. If the option is selected (the default), there are options to print it before the official description (the default) or after the official description. If the District’s description is printed, the official description is in brackets.
If additional space is needed in the course description column, the description is continued on subsequent lines which contain only the description and no other data such as state course code, district course code, etc. |

Additionally, if a student has dropped a class, that is identified on the screens with the educational milestones for a class. |

The following changes were made for transcripts printed for students enrolled in high school in the 2012-2013 school year or later.
|
Reason: |
Changes were made (a) to support OSPI requirements for the 2012-2013 school year and (b) to recognize test results for Special Education Students when determining whether standards have been met for reading, writing, math and science, as well as when determining whether a Certificate of Individual Achievement has been earned. |

|
Reason: |
This provides the ability for school districts to import test data for Special Education students and is in preparation for modifications to the Standardized Transcript which will be in a future release. At that time the transcript logic will recognize the TSPXX data for determining whether a student has met standards for Reading, Writing, Math and Science and for earning a Certificate of Individual Achievement. Change: |
A new educational milestones Type value of WAHst is being added to the educational milestones system table. Additionally, a data manipulation is being run to add a new record to each district’s educational milestones table. The new record is for Washington State History. |
Reason: |
This is done in anticipation of using student educational milestones to identify on the high school transcript whether a student has met the requirement concerning Washington State History. This change to the transcript is required by OSPI for the 2012-2013 school year. |

If the status is not "Met" or "Waived," then the status is "Not Met."
Data Manipulations: Data manipulations are being run in order to populate the three tables related to educational milestones:
Printing CAA and CIA Information: If a student’s graduation year is 2008 or later, information about the Certificate of Academic Achievement or the Certificate of Individual Achievement is printed only if the student has earned one of the certificates.
If neither certificate has been earned, a line of asterisks is printed. |

Change: |
A data manipulation is being run to populate the Student Educational Milestone table for students whose WA graduation year is 2008 or later. The data manipulation will create:
|
Reason: |
So that school district staff will not have to enter educational milestone records for individual students. |
Menu: |
Student Management\State Reports\Washington Transcript Reports\Standardized High School Transcript\By Range or By Individual -- OR -- Student Management\Student\Reports\State Reports\Washington\Washington Transcript Reports\Standardized High School Transcript\By Range or By Individual -- OR -- Student Management\Office\Grading\Reporting\Grading Reports\Transcripts\Washington Transcript Reports\Standardized High School Transcript\By Range or By Individual |
Note: |
Having an educational milestone for a Certificate of Academic Achievement does not mean that the CAA requirement will be identified as having been earned on the standardized transcript. The system identifies the CAA requirement as having been met when the student has appropriate WASL scores or when data entry has been done so the CAA educational milestone has a completed flag = Yes and a completed date. Similarly, having an educational milestone for the High School and Beyond Plan or the Culminating Project does not mean that either requirement will be identified as having been achieved on the standardized transcript. The system identifies those requirements as having been met when data entry has been done so the educational milestone has a completed flag = Yes and a completed date. |

Change: |
Calculation of a student’s cumulative GPA has been revised. Old version: Total GPA points (5 decimal places) was divided by the total GPA credits attempted (5 decimal places), then rounded to 3 decimal places for printing. New version: Total GPA points value is rounded from 5 decimal places to 3 decimal places. Total GPA credits attempted value is rounded from 5 decimal places to 3 decimal places. Total GPA points value (3 decimal places) is divided by the total GPA credits attempted value (3 decimal places). The result is rounded to 3 decimal places for printing on the standardized transcript. |
Reason: |
So the GPA calculation for the standardized transcript is the same as Skyward’s GPA calculation for reports and screens. |

Change: |
For the Schools Attended section, a student’s entry\withdrawal records will be concatenated if the state withdrawal type equals P1 and the Entity ID on the next entry\withdrawal record is the same as on the record with the P1 withdrawal type. Because of this change, if a student enrolled in a 4-year high school in grade 9, remained in the same school and was promoted each year until graduation at the end of grade 12, there would be only one Schools Attended record printed on the standardized transcript. |
Reason: |
Extra lines were being printed in the Schools Attended section because of CSRS reporting requirements for students who are promoted to the next grade level within the same entity. |

The GPA auto calculation process will now run during the period after the grading period has ended but before the grade input end date. |

A third decimal was added to the Credits Earned and the Credits Attempted columns. The new format for the columns is NN.NNN. This affects the Academic Record and Report Period and Cumulative Summary sections of the report. |
Reason: |
The new format now matches the decimal positions that can be entered in WESPaC. This also alleviates potential discrepancies between Earned Credits elsewhere in WESPaC and Credits Earned on the WA Transcript reports. |

Added two test score formats (TWASL and TWAAS) to hold test score results for the Washington state Standardized Transcript. Ran a data manipulation to load student test scores, using the TWASL format, based on 2004 WASL Grade 10 test score data for Reading, Writing, Math and Science. |
Reason: |
The Washington state standardized transcript must display WASL\WAAS Grade 10 test scale scores, achievement levels, and the test date (month and year) beginning with the 2006 graduating class. The test score data are required for the Reading, Writing, Math and Science content areas. |

The report has been modified to utilize data in the Course Completion Date field (Student-Class.Wn-Cor-Comp-Date). |
Reason: |
Utilization of the Course Completion Date field allows an entity to override the standard term or semester end date that appears on the transcript. A practical example of the use of this field is to enter the actual trimester course completion date on a transfer record entered in a 2 semester entity. |

The Course Completion Date field is available for update on the Class History Maintenance screen only if the course involved has a Category of Transfer. To utilize this functionality, first update the category field on the course record for the appropriate year (SM\Office\Sched-CY\Course). The Standardized High School Transcript is the only report that utilizes data from the Course Completion Date field. |
