1 Overview

In order to be reportable, district Account Codes must be state reportable fund types as recognized by OSPI, and they must be valid for the selected fiscal year. Crosswalk Account Codes must have OSPI approved dimensions in use. Acceptable dimensions vary by fund.

Use this program when:

  1. You have created new account descriptions, and further modifications are needed. For example, an account code description may have the same crosswalk code for four out of five funds.

  2. You prefer to assign crosswalk accounts manually, rather than allowing the system to assign them in the Generate Crosswalk Accounts program.

  3. You have already set the first "flag", Valid Account Descriptions, to "Yes". This program does not set any additional validation flags to "yes", and you must go on to steps 2 and 3 to finish the crosswalk accounts process.

Modify crosswalk accounts one at a time, using your choice of one of these two methods:

  1. Have the system regenerate the crosswalk from the dimension crosswalk description (dimension) values, or

  2. Manually override the existing crosswalk account.

Generate Crosswalk Accounts is an alternative to this program. Use it when:

You have a large number of accounts and prefer to have the system assign crosswalks rather than doing it manually. This program searches through all of your accounts, allowing the system to generate crosswalks for all accounts that do not have them. This is a way to save time, and you may still use Modify Crosswalk Accounts later, if you wish to manually assign crosswalks to specific accounts or check for accuracy the accounts generated by the system.
