Within a selection option, the rules vary for "and" versus "or".
If selection is by course, then "or" applies. That is, sections are chosen in any of the courses selected. For example, if the course range is ENG101 to ENG999, then all sections in any course within the range are chosen – all sections in ENG101 or in ENG102 or in ENG103, etc.
If selection is by period, then "or" applies. That is, sections are chosen if they have a class meet record with any of the periods selected. For example, if the period range is 01 to 02, then all sections that have a class meet record with any period within the range are selected – all sections with a period 01 class meet record or all sections with a period 01 class meet record.
If selection is by days meet, then "and" applies. That is, sections are chosen if they have a class meet record with all of the days specified. For example, if the days checked are MWF, then all sections with a class meet record with days meet of M and W and F are selected.
If selection is by scheduling category, there is no "and" or "or" rule because only one scheduling category can be selected.
If multiple boxes are checked, the sections selected must meet criteria from each individual box checked and from all boxes checked. For example,
If selection is by course and period, then sections are chosen that are within the course range and within the period range. If the course range is ENG101 to ENG999 and the period range is 01 to 04, sections are chosen that are in any course within the range and that are in any period in the range; ENG101 + period 01, ENG101 + period 02, ENG101 + period 03, etc.
If selection is by period and days meet, then sections are chosen that are within the period range and that have the days meet pattern. If the period range is 01 to 04 and days meet is MWF, sections are chosen that are in any period in the range and have days meet of M and W and F; period 01 and MWF, period 02 and MWF, etc.
