Unexcused Absence Report (Grades 1-8)

Release:

Version 04.10.12.02.09, June 24, 2011 NSR

Change:

Corrected an issue where student Ethnicity was reported incorrectly.

Reason:

If the student’s Federal\State Ethnicity was updated using Race Code Quick Entry (WS\ST\PS\UT\RV\QE), the student’s Ethnicity was not reported correctly.

Change:

  1. Updated the report with the new Federal\State Ethnicity and State Race categories.

  2. Corrected an issue where the Detail Report was only printing 20 records per page.  

Reason:

  1. To meet the state reporting requirements for the 2010-2011 school year.

  2. The report was page breaking too early.

Change:

  1. The program logic now checks the Count in Truancy flag for counting absences.

  2. The Calendar Codes screen has been updated to not allow terms to be added to a calendar until calendar details have been added.

Reason:

  1. This flag was not being checked and this sometimes resulted in a different unexcused absences count than on the Attendance Truancy report.

  2. The WA Grades 1-8 Unexcused Absences report does not display any data if there are no Calendar Detail records.

Reason:

  1. Corrected an issue where Zero Hour Attendance was not accurate for Calendar Method "S" when zero period was the only period being considered in the absence calculation.

  2. Added program version number in header of the report output documents.

Reason:

  1. The problem occurred because the system was not looking for a valid absence type for zero period.

  2. Program version number was missing from the header of the report output document.

  1. A new report was created that details the data for each student included in the summary.

  2. Students who have 20 consecutive unexcused absences will not have those absences included on the report.

  3. Corrected an issue where the report was not counting zero period in determining absence ratios.

Reason:

  1. A detail report will allow auditing of summary information.

  2. Students with 20 or more consecutive unexcused absences are considered withdrawn per state law.

  3. If the Calendar Method was set to "C," and Use Zero Mod was set to "Yes," and Include in Count was set to "Yes," the process was not counting the zero period for determining absence ratios.
