Step 3 -- State grid tables define valid account dimensions beyond the first three of fund, account type, and General Ledger type. These most commonly refer to Program/Activity and Activity/Object. An account must have valid combinations of these additional dimensions, as defined by OSPI, in order for it to have Valid Grids.

This program verifies that generated crosswalk accounts are valid combinations according to OSPI, creating a list of any invalid grids in the Incompatible Crosswalk Dimension Values report. If no invalid records are found, the last validation "flag", Valid Grids, is set to "Yes". The report then displays the message "All crosswalks are compatible: State reports can be printed."

The program assumes the second validation flag, Valid Accounts, has been completed successfully because the second crosswalk validation flag is marked "Yes". Therefore, if an account in the account master file does not have an equivalent crosswalk account, the account will be ignored and will not show up as an exception.

Completion sets the Valid Grids flag to "Yes". Crosswalks should now be correctly completed, and state reports may be successfully run.

Crosswalk processes are available only to district accounting office personnel.
