Certificate Number:
If an employee has more than one certificate, only one should be designated with a Certification Type of "OSPI Certificate Number" in the Profile Master Credits tab in the Certifications display. If someone has a basic education certificate number and a vocational education certificate number, then whichever one the job requires should be set with the OSPI code. OSPI uses both the SSN and the Certificate Number to identify a unique person.
If more than one OSPI Certificate Number is found in the employee’s record, then this message will appear:
Warning – Multiple OSPI Certificate numbers found.
Experience Years:
Years of experience are reported based on experience records found for individuals with certificated assignments as of October 1 of the selected plan year. Any records coded with the "state reportable flag" will be included. If experience records are not current, then the S-275 Report will not be current.
Mandatory and Insurance Benefit Dollars:
The Benefit Group Code of "Tax" or "Retirement" is used in the S-275 reporting program logic to find and report the mandatory benefit dollars. All other benefit dollars are reported as insurance.
Highest Degree:
The highest degree is determined as of October 1 of the selected plan year.
Grade From Codes:
The following Grade From codes are used in the reporting process and should not be changed or deleted from the Setup Codes Grades table:
P = Preschool
M = Middle (Grades 7-8)
K = Kindergarten
H = High School (Grades 9-12)
E = Elementary (Grades 1-3)
F = Elementary (Grades 4-6)
Grade Group:
The Grade From state code is reported in the S-275 Report and in the transmittal file.
If a Grade From state code exists on an assignment record, it will be reported regardless of whether the code is required for that type of assignment. S-275 edits 70 and 71 will be performed on all "Grade From" codes found.
OSPI requires grade group on basic education instructional assignments and special education certificated instructional assignments.
Final Salary, Insurance Benefits, and Mandatory Benefits Summary Totals:
Summary totals for final salary, insurance benefits, and mandatory benefits will always be shown in the Combined Total column on the report. The detail report displays these values at the employee level, and not at the assignment level.
