As part of its Core Student Record System (CSRS), the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) requires that each active student have a State Student Identifier (SSID). The purpose of the State Student Identifier Data Extract process is to create an extract file containing elements defined by OSPI and to place that file in the district’s default import/export path. The file can then be downloaded to the desktop and sent to OSPI in order to obtain SSIDs. OSPI provides a CSRS Web site for this process.
The extract file includes the following data elements:
County-District Number
Student District Number
Legal Last Name
Legal First Name
Middle Name
Birth Date
Gender
Most Recent District Enrollment Date
Serving School Code (OSPI Building Code)
Most Recent School Enrollment Date
If a student is enrolled in more than one entity, the Serving School Code and Most Recent School Enrollment Date are from the student’s default entity.
The SSID data extract process is only available district wide by a user logged into Entity 000.
