The WESPaC Data Validation process has various edit checks to validate data in Salary Negotiations plans. WSIPC has written the Data Validation process as a stand-alone utility as well as building it into other Salary Negotiations reports (Mix Factor Report, S-275 Report, and SPI Salary Exhibit Reports) so that it always runs when those reports are requested. This automatic run of DV processing is designed to ensure the highest possible data integrity on state reports.
When run as a stand-alone utility, the user is able to select which of the three state reports (Mix Factor, S-275, and/or SPI Salary Exhibit) to edit for, and may choose to have exception messages printed by Employee Name or by Exception Message. When run automatically as part of a state report, DV displays edits for that report only and exception messages are printed in Employee Name order.
An exception report is created, identifying whether the exception is an error, warning, or not applicable for the report(s) being edited against. Issues found by the validation process should be reviewed and fixed as needed before creating final reports.
