1 Overview

The purpose of the Core Student Record System (CSRS) Data Extract process is to create an extract file containing the CSRS data elements defined by OSPI, and to place that file in the district’s default import/export path. The file can then be downloaded to the desktop and sent to OSPI on a regular basis, usually once each month. OSPI provides a CSRS Web site for this process.

In addition to the extract file, there are reports related to the CSRS extract process:

  1. Extract Report &endash; Lists all students on the Extract File

  2. Students without an SSID Report &endash; Lists students on the Extract File/Report that do not have an SSID

  3. Exception Report &endash; Lists students whose data does not pass edits; they are not on the Extract File nor on the Extract Report

  4. Warning Report &endash; Lists students who are on the Extract File and Extract Report but whose data should be reviewed for accuracy

  5. Primary School Report &endash; Lists students whose primary school value for an entity is determined by the WA Primary School flag rather than by the Default Entity flag

  6. Special Education IEP Report &endash; Lists students who are identified as receiving Special Education services (data element 34) and the dates of their most recent IEP

  7. Report Parameters &endash; Displays the options selected for running the CSRS extract process

The CSRS data extract process is only available district wide by a user logged into Entity "000".

The process includes the following outputs:
