The calculations to determine whether a student has an unexcused day depend on the Calendar Method defined on the Master Calendar defined in the entity. The Calendar Methods available include the following:
The Calendar or "C" Method uses values defined in the Calendar Master and Calendar Detail tables to determine what is or is not a full day of attendance. See Calendar Method.
The Schedule or "S" Method also uses values defined in the Calendar Master and Calendar Detail tables, but looks at the student’s period schedule for a given day to determine whether or not the day counts as a full day absence. See Schedule Method.
The Formula or "F" Method is not recognized as a valid Calendar Method for the purpose of the Grades 1-8 Unexcused Absence Report. An error message will be generated on the Parameter page of the report if an entity's calendar has a Calendar Method of "F" defined.
