Once you have defined your input File Name, return to the File Definition Maintenance screen.
The bottom half of the screen is where the field layout is defined; that is, this is the location for fields which define the format of the import File Name. When OSPI sends the test score files to WSIPC, a data dictionary file is included. These data dictionary definitions are then provided for you as the fields in this section.
The tables in the following pages define the file layouts for the 2003 test score files.
No maintenance is required; however, if for any reason you must edit a field, select the desired field and click EDIT.
You are now in the Field Maintenance screen. Using the tables above for your current test, identify the field you are editing and enter the appropriate data.
Skip Field refers to whether or on this field is considered by the actual Import process. Fields such as Name and Gender are provided by OSPI, but are not needed to import scores into WESPaC. These fields will have a value of Yes in Skip Field. Fields that are required for proper importing have a value of No.
Valid Field Types include Character, Integer and Special Ed. Field Types can be edited by clicking this button, or accessed via the WESPaC menu path Student Management / Office / Assessments / Test Scores / Test Field Formats.
The bottom of the Field Maintenance screen displays a preview of the data from the import file you have defined. If you do not see any data rows, return to File Definition Maintenance and make sure the file is defined correctly.
