The credit values are determined as follows:
The process first determines whether the Student Class Record is historical or current.
Historical Records: If the Student Class record type is historical (student-class.schd-record-type = "H"), the Credits Earned Total in the Student Class Credit History table (stu-cls-crdt-hst.scch-earnd-crdts-tot) is used.
Current Records: If the Student Class record type is not historical (STUDENT-CLASS.SCHD-RECORD-TYPE "H"), and
If the grading period end date is less than or equal to the current date (GRADING-PERIOD.GP-END-DATE system date), Year-to-Date Credits earned in the Student Class table (STUDENT-CLASS.SCHD-YTD-EARN-CRDS) is used. This field is updated by the automatic GPA calculation process.
If the grading period end date is greater than the current date (GRADING-PERIOD.GP-END-DATE > system date), the earned credits for the course in the Course table (COURSE.COR-CREDITS-GOOD) is used, unless
The student has variable credits for the class (student-class.has-var-earn-crdts = "Y"), in which case the variable earned credit amount (student-class.earn-crdt-poss) is used.
The process first determines whether the Student Class Record is historical or current.
Historical Records: If the Student Class record type is historical (student-class.schd-record-type = "H"), the Credits Earned Total plus the Failed Credits Total in the Student Class Credit History table (stu-cls-crdt-hst.scch-earnd-crdts-tot + stu-cls-crdt-hst.scch-faild-crdts-tot) is used.
Current Records: If the Student Class record type is not historical (STUDENT-CLASS.SCHD-RECORD-TYPE "H"), and
If the grading period end date is less than or equal to the current date (GRADING-PERIOD.GP-END-DATE system date), Year-to-Date Earned Credits plus Year-to-Date Failed Credits in the Student Class table (STUDENT-CLASS.SCHD-YTD-EARN-CRDS + STUDENT-CLASS.SCHD-YTD-FAIL-CRDS) are used. These fields are updated by the auto GPA calculation process.
If the grading period end date is greater than the current date (GRADING-PERIOD.GP-END-DATE > system date), the earned credits for the course in the Course table (COURSE.COR-CREDITS-GOOD) is used, unless
The student has variable credits for the class (STUDENT-CLASS.HAS-VAR-EARN-CRDTS= "Y"), in which case the variable earned credit amount (STUDENT-CLASS.EARN-CRDTS-POSS) is used.
The process first determines whether the Student Class Record is historical or current.
Historical Records: If the Student Class record type is historical (student-class.schd-record-type = "H"), GPA Credits Total in the Student Class Credit History table (stu-cls-crdt-hst.ssch-gpa-crdts-tot) is used as the basis for calculating GPA credits earned. The GPA Credits Total is divided by the number of grade marks that can be included in the GPA calculation; the result is multiplied by the number of passing grade marks. Example: GPA Credits Total = 1.00 for a 2-semester course. Student has grade marks of D and F. GPA credits earned = 1.00 divided by 2 which is 0.50; 0.50 is multiplied by 1 (the single passing grade mark), which is 0.50 GPA credits earned.
Current Records: If the Student Class record type is not historical (STUDENT-CLASS.SCHD-RECORD-TYPE "H"), and
If the grading period end date is less than or equal to the current date (GRADING-PERIOD.GP-END-DATE system date), Year-to-Date GPA Credits in the Student Class table (STUDENT-CLASS.SCHD-YTD-GPA-CRDS[1] is used. This field is updated by the auto GPA calculation process.
If the grading period end date is greater than the current date (GRADING-PERIOD.GP-END-DATE > system date), the course GPA Credits (COURSE.COR-CREDITS-GPA) is used, unless
The student has variable GPA credits for the class (STUDENT-CLASS.HAS-VAR-GPA-CRDTS = "Y"), in which case the variable GPA credit amount (STUDENT-CLASS.GPA-CRDTS-POSS) is used.
